5 Years Later, The House Rabbit Society FB Tirade

While transferring years of Blog Posts from our previous website to this one, I came across something that I had long forgotten about, my online attack from the House Rabbit Society FB Group members. Curiosity had the best of me, so I went back to their public Facebook group to see if that post was still up. And it was! Re-reading all the nasty comments made on the screen shot posted of my FB post in the Montana Pets group re-opened those wounds. It is so sad to see how cruel people are, and quick to judge a person, not only that, but the assumptions made about who a person is. Social Media truly brings out the worse in people, although we all still use it, including myself.

I often wonder who these people are on the other side of the keyboard who have typed all those nasty comments. Understandably their intentions are good, save the lives of those cute adorable little bunnies, ensuring that all bunnies live happy lives, being loved and cherished. But is it really necessary to go to such extremes? Couldn't more be accomplished within their mission with kindness and compassion?

I don't know about you, but seeing the comments made is enough to scare me from all those involved with the House Rabbit Society, as well as to never recommend them, their group or beliefs to anyone!

So, five years later, the post with all the negative, and nasty comments remains. It remains public on their page for all to see. Only one comment was removed, that I could see, which was the one made about burning down my house by Mike, and 8 people liked it.

I am still appalled, even five years later, that this "Mike" even thought it was okay to suggest burning down my house. Even if he was speaking out of anger, and really truly did not mean to have someone physically come find me and burn my home down. But the fact that it was said in a public forum with 2k+ members, without knowing the mental stability of all of them. What if someone actually decided to do so? What if it was done at night while my family was sleeping? Would he even feel some sort of remorse that his comment caused the possible death or severe injury for a family of seven? What about the animals inside? This man is so compassionate about rabbits, what bout the dogs, cats, mice and humans in the house?

This comment was removed, either by the original poster, or the admin of the group. But yet, I still had the screen shot, just in case. People now a days are scary crazy!

As stated the original post remains in the group, which is open for the public to view. Simply do a Facebook search for the House Rabbit Society group, then when open, do a group search of my maiden name: Christine Pecor.

I have decided to address the comments of those who had made assumptions, accusations, and nasty remarks in an open letter to the group members that will be posted within my blog in the next couple of days.
